Real reviews from real patients
“Helen was fantastic in helping me overcome ongoing hip pain, mainly when cycling. She identified the underlying muscle imbalances/tightness and created a strengthening plan that addressed the root cause, helping me get back to training and supporting my triathlon and gym goals. She explains everything clearly, including why each exercise is important, which made the rehab process easy to follow. The dry needling also provided great relief for my tight muscles. Professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in her patients’ recovery. I highly recommend Helen and her team to anyone looking for a physiotherapist.”
“TJ is an excellent physio who quickly identified the root causes of my back pain and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He prescribed targeted rehab exercises and was incredibly patient, attentive, and encouraging throughout both sessions. After just two visits, my range of motion has improved tremendously and the extreme pain I was dealing with is essentially gone. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients’ progress and recovery, not just a quick fix. Highly recommend TJ if you’re dealing with pain or mobility issues.”
“I went to ActiveX for physio to strengthen my ankle after struggling with soreness and difficulty walking. This was my second time with them. A couple of years ago, I saw them for a back issue, and that experience was so positive. This time, my ankle would swell at times and felt weak, to a point I was walking gingerly. It was not caused by any recent injury so I was a bit confused. What I really appreciated was how Isabelle took the time to explain what was causing the issue and walked me through a clear recovery plan. Each week, we worked through targeted stretches and light strength training to rebuild strength and flexibility. She also included sports massage on my ankle, which made a huge difference in loosening it up. After about a month, my ankle felt noticeably stronger and more stable. I was moving with much more confidence and, just as importantly, I walked away knowing how to continue strengthening and caring for it on my own. For context, during recovery I could barely do a sled push. Today, I can sled push 170kg with full confidence. Highly recommend ActiveX and Isabelle if you want structured, thoughtful care by professionals.”
“I was looking for a good physio so my cyclist/runner friend highly recommended ActiveX, specifically Isabelle. I went in with lower back pain, frontal knee pain and hip issues. Isabelle didn't just provide great treatment, she took the time to properly assess everything, explain what was going on and why, and build a plan that actually made sense. Her approach is thorough and knowledgeable without being overly clinical. She clearly knows her stuff and has a lovely personality that makes the sessions feel collaborative rather than just being told what to do. Beyond the hands on physio work, she put together gym programming and stretching routines tailored to my specific issues, which made a real difference between sessions. The follow up has been excellent too. Not the kind of place where you walk out and never hear from them again. Isabelle genuinely checks in and adjusts the plan as things progress. Go visit NOW! She fixed me. Lower back, knees, hips, all significantly better. If you're an active person dealing with niggles or injuries, I'd highly recommend booking in with Isabelle at ActiveX”
“After several TCM sessions with no progress, I turned to Nick for my rotator cuff injury and the experience was great! Nick diagnosed the injury accurately, gave me rehab exercises to do and also coordinated with my coach on my programme modifications to ensure that I could still train pain-free and maintain my strength. I felt super taken care of throughout the rehab journey and I will always remember that very first set of pain-free pull ups after recovery. Thank you! 🙏”

The question we get asked often is whether they need a scan, and it comes down to whether the result would change anything we do. Scan is warranted for: - A suspected fracture changes things. If you couldn't weight bear after the fall, there's focal bony tenderness or an obvious deformity, get the X-ray. - If you have these red flags, go to a doctor rather than to us: fever, unexplained weight loss, night pain that arrives for no reason and won't settle in any position, weakness that's spreading, numbness around the groin, any change to bladder or bowel control. -When surgery, an injection or clearance to compete is being decided as the decision will depend on the scan. Outside those, a scan ordered early tends to find things that were already there long before this pain started, and reading that report can make someone feel more wary about moving & loading. 🥊 What does it take to keep a national boxer performing at his best? Come with us to see what happens in an upper limb assessment. For Aaron, we looked beyond pain. Our upper body assessment included: ✔️ Posture & movement ✔️ Shoulder mobility ✔️ Rotator cuff strength ✔️ Grip strength ✔️ Sport-specific muscle imbalances We found good left-to-right shoulder symmetry 👏, but also identified opportunities to improve his overall shoulder strength and address forearm weakness, helping reduce the risk of future injuries, especially with a history of golfer's elbow. 💪 Every punch, block, and round places huge demands on shoulders, neck, forearms, and upper back. 💥 Even small strength deficits or movement limitations can increase injury risk over time.
