Nicholas Ho (Nick)
Paddle Sports | Upper Limb
Nick is a Singaporean physiotherapist with a specialist focus on shoulder injuries, upper limb rehabilitation, and paddle sports. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from SIT-Trinity College Dublin, and brings first-hand experience as a competitive paddler.
Nick started his career at Singapore General Hospital, treating patients across cardiac, respiratory, and musculoskeletal conditions. He was part of SGH's specialized outpatient sports and shoulder clinic team, managing both surgical and non-surgical shoulder cases. That early depth in one of Singapore's top hospital systems shaped how he approaches complex upper limb injuries today.
Nick competes in the sports he treats. He has raced canoe-kayak sprints, marathon races, ocean paddling, and dragon boat, and he knows what these sports demand from the body because he has put his own through it. Whether you're a dragon boater with a shoulder that flares up mid-season or a kayaker trying to get back on the water after surgery, Nick understands the sport, the injury, and what it takes to bridge the two.
Nick has spent more than half his life on the water. He still races competitively in ocean kayaking and volunteers as a surf-ski coach for new paddlers.
Running came into Nick's life through paddling. He trains year-round under a structured running program built to develop the aerobic base competitive paddling demands, and he has experienced both sides of training load: injuries from pushing volume too quickly, and his biggest aerobic gains when that same volume was progressed properly. He manages running-related tendinopathies, bone stress injuries, and overtraining injuries in novice runners and in those building mileage for endurance events, with a focus on smart load progression and structured return-to-run programming. If your training keeps breaking down every time you add distance, Nick has made those mistakes himself and knows how to program around them.
His approach builds the strength, endurance, and movement quality a lasting return to sport needs. Nick's view is that with the right care and programming, people can keep doing what they love for as long as they want to.
When he’s not on the water, he’s probably watching Star Wars. He lives by Yoda’s motto: “Do or do not, there is no try.”
